Water Service Pull
A water service pull is a trenchless method of replacing your existing water service line by pulling in new line from the house, between the water meter and the property line, located at the service valve. If you have a leaking water line, a water service pull is likely the best repair method, as it can be difficult to pinpoint the exact location of the leak, so replacing the entire line is often the best practice. A water service pull requires minimal excavation, keeping your lawn and driveway mostly intact.
For water line installation, TerraBurst crew will pull a new service line through the existing line using pipe bursting technology. Following installation, TerraBurst will reconnect the service and perform pressure testing to confirm a successful repair.
A leak can be caused by:
- Galvanic corrosion due to the material of pipe
- Freezing/ frozen pipes
- Age of the water line
- Soil type
- Ground movement
- Expansion/contraction of the pipe due to temperature variations
- Improper installation by the original contractor
A water service pull is a permanent repair for:
- Leaky water pipes
- Leaking connections
- Broken water mains
- Replacing galvanized water lines
- Replacing lead pipes

Water MAIN BREAK Repair
TerraBurst provides repair for water main breaks for condominium complexes, commercial, and residential properties. If a water main break occurs, call TerraBurst immediately to assess the issue. Once a crew is dispatched to determine the location and severity of the break, the crew will close nearby water valves to mitigate the water flow or shut it off. In order to repair a water main break, TerraBurst will contact the City of Calgary to identify nearby utility lines and prepare the site to excavate and expose the water main. Once the water main is exposed, the crew will repair the water main break, conduct a pressure test, and disinfect and flush the line to ensure the water is safe to drink once brought back online. Once the service is restored, the crew will backfill and compact the excavation.
A water main break can be caused by:
- Changes in the water pressure within the pipes
- Pipe age and wear and tear on pipes
- Pipe material
- Soil type and ground conditions such as corrosion or ground water
- Weather conditions and extreme changes in temperatures
- Vibrations caused by heavy traffic or ground shifting
- Improper installation process and unforeseen issues
